Molly’s Minute: Ready for the Rain

The other day, I was on a nice little walk outside, when it started to rain.

And I got kind of annoyed with that rain, because I got soaked and I had to cut my walk short. But if I’m being honest with you, I didn’t really have any right to be upset.

Because I had checked the weather earlier, seen that there was a chance of rain, and chosen to go for a walk anyway.

I knew that it might rain on me, so I shouldn’t have been surprised or upset when it did.

We get caught off-guard and shaken up by problems all the time. Every day.

But problems shouldn’t really surprise us.

Jesus tells us up front in the gospel of John that we will have problems. But He also says to take heart, because He has overcome the world. And He’ll help us overcome our problems, too.

We know problems are going to come, so let’s not let them shake us. Let’s stand firm and be ready to face those problems with God’s help.
