Molly’s Minute: Push That Pride Aside

When I’m driving to a new place, I always use my GPS. Because I don’t know where I’m going! I need it to tell me how to get there.
But after I’ve driven to that place a couple times, I start to think I don’t need the GPS anymore. I feel confident that I can get there on my own. So, I start out driving there, with no GPS…
And I take a wrong turn. And I get lost.
But then I remember that my GPS is still there if I need it. So I let go of my pride, bring it back up, and let it take me where I need to go.
We do that same thing with God sometimes—we get proud.
We start to think we can do things on our own, we stop asking for His help. And the next thing we know, we’re lost.
But even after we’re proud, even after we think we don’t need Him, even after we get lost without Him, God is still there for us.
And He’ll come to help us right away.
We just have to push our pride aside, call out to Him, and say, “God, I need you.”
Psalm 18:6 “In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.”
