Molly’s Minute: Pressing Pause

May 18, 2020

Sometimes I wish life had a pause button. That way, if I got overwhelmed, I could just hit pause, regroup, and hit play whenever I was ready to jump back into things.

That would be nice.

Because there’s a point in every day when life gets to be too much. For you, it might be rushing out the door in the morning, or sitting in traffic. Maybe it’s going to the store or getting dinner ready in the evening.

Maybe it’s happening right now.

And while we can’t actually stop life happening around us, we can still press pause by taking a few minutes to go to God.

We can head to a quiet place, take a deep breath, and tell God what’s bothering us. We can regroup, let Him refresh us, and then get back to life.

So give that a try that today. If things get to be too much, try pressing pause.

Isaiah 30:15 “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.’ “
