Molly’s Minute: Open Schedule, Open Heart

February 4, 2020

What’s still on your to-do list for today? What do you still need to get done?

Maybe I didn’t even need to ask you that, because you were already thinking about it—because you’re always thinking about it—because you’ve got so much to do!

You have important things in your life that take up your time, that you need to get done every day. You’re busy.

And being busy is okay. But in the words of Victoria Osteen, “We should never be so busy that we don’t notice the needs of others around us.”

The best part is what she says next: “Keep your heart of compassion open.”

When life gets really busy, sometimes we can get tunnel vision. We’re only able to focus on the next thing we need to do.

When that happens, we forget the call we’ve received from scripture to “…serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13).

So keep your heart of compassion—and your schedule—open to meeting the needs of those around you today.

Galatians 5:13 “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Remember, if you ever need prayer for something that you’re going through, I would love to pray for you. You can always send your prayer requests to me at mchambers@brightfm.com.
