Molly’s Minute: Oil And Water, Anxiety And Praise

If you’ve ever tried to mix oil and water, you know it just doesn’t work. They just can’t mix together.
You know what else is like that? Anxiety and praise. They’re like oil and water, they can’t exist together, either.
Because when we’re worshipping, we’re stepping into God’s presence. And only good things can exist in God’s presence. Anxiety has no place there.
So if you’re feeling anxious today—and there are a lot of things to feel anxious over right now—I’d encourage you to worship. Whatever that means to you.
Crank up the songs on BRIGHT-FM, get out that old keyboard or guitar and sing your favorite worship song, or just sit and think on who God is and what He’s done. Just worship, step into God’s presence, and feel your anxiety fade away.
Because anxiety and praise are like oil and water—they can’t exist in the same space and they can’t exist in your heart together.
Psalm 71:14 “But I will hope continually and I will praise you yet more and more.”
