Molly’s Minute: Nothing Can Steal Our Joy

One of my best friends got married in March of this year. Right when our country was going into lockdown.

Because of that, they basically had to change every plan they’d made—the guest list, the number of guests, the food, the photographer, even the date of the wedding. It all changed at the last second.

But, on her wedding day, my friend wasn’t upset about any of that.

She was happy and excited. She was so full of joy over getting married that no problem or change of plans could take that away from her.

Every day, we can pretty much guarantee that something bad or unfortunate will happen to us.

But, every day, something incredible happens, too.

We’re saved. 

Every day, Jesus takes away our guilt, our shame, and our mistakes, and He washes us clean. Every day, He makes us new.

And, when we remember that, nothing can steal our joy.

Phillipians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.”
