Molly’s Minute: Imitators Of Christ

Growing up, I wanted to be just like my mom.

So, I tried to be. I was constantly imitating her—trying on her clothes, repeating the things she said, and pretending to drink coffee just like she did.

Because I looked up to her. Because she set a great example for me, and I wanted to follow it.

And the way that a child imitates their parents is exactly the way God wants us to imitate Him.

Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us…”

God gave us the perfect example of a Christian life in the life Jesus lived. And His desire is that we see that example and strive to imitate it.

So today, like kids looking up to our parents, let’s look up to Him. And let’s be imitators of Christ.
