Molly’s Minute: Hurry Is Your Enemy

March 2, 2020

How did you wake up this morning?

Did you get up nice and slow, taking a minute to stretch, take a deep breath, and say a little prayer?

Or did you start your day in a hurry, jumping out of bed and getting started on your to-do list right away?

That second one sounds more like me, and maybe it sounds like you, too.

If you’ve been hustling since the second your eyes opened this morning, I want to remind you to slow it down.

John Ortberg says that “Hurry is the great enemy of spiritual life in our time.”

That means that hurry is a threat to your relationship with God.

So today, I’d encourage you not to speed through your day, but to walk through it with purpose, letting God direct your steps.

And above all, remember to go to Him for rest today. Don’t let the enemy of hurry push you away from Him.

Exodus 33:14 The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

Don’t forget that I am always accepting prayer requests! If you need someone to pray for you, send me an email to mchambers@brightfm.com.
