Molly’s Minute: God, The Best Listener

Who is someone in your life that is just not a good listener?

Someone who, when you talk to them, doesn’t actually hear what you’re saying?

I know someone like that. And I love her.

But this friend of mine is always doing something else or thinking about something else when I’m talking. I know I’ve never got her full attention, and that most of my words go in one ear and right out the other.

And it’s frustrating—and a little sad, too—to talk and feel like you aren’t being heard.

But we never have to feel that way with God.

Psalm 116 says, “I love the Lord because he hears my prayers… Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!”

The God of the universe bends down to listen to you when you pray to Him. Even though He’s got a million other things to do and a million other people on His mind, you have His full attention when you speak.

So, if you need someone to talk to today, talk to God. Because He listens to every word you say.
