Molly’s Minute: God Listens Intently To You
Have you ever heard about the difference between passive listening and active listening?
If not, you’ve probably experienced and felt the difference.
When someone passively listens to you, it doesn’t feel like they’re really paying attention. They’re doing something else, not really looking at you, and not giving you much evidence that they’re actually hearing what you’re saying.
But when you’re talking to an active listener, you feel it. They hold eye contact, lean towards you, maybe nod their head as you talk. You feel heard.
And one amazing thing about our God? He actively listens to us.
Psalm 116:1-2, “I love the Lord because he hears my prayers… Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!”
When we call to God in prayer, He hears us.
The one who is in control of everything—who has a million other things to do and people He’s thinking about—bends down to listen to every word you say to Him.
So as you go about your day today, know that you can talk to God as much or as often as you need.
And He will lean in to listen intently to you.
