Molly’s Minute: Feed Faith, Not Fear

April 3, 2020

I gotta be honest with you. I know I’m supposed to be limiting my media exposure, but I’m having a hard time doing that.

Because every morning there’s a new wave of updates, and I need to know what’s going on, so I read them all.

And then I get stuck in this cycle of getting anxious because of what I’m seeing and then looking for more updates or headlines or interactive maps of confirmed cases because I think it’s going to make me feel better. But then it just makes me more anxious.

I get stuck in a cycle of feeding my fear.

Maybe you get stuck in that cycle, too.

See, fear is hungry. The more scared we get, the more we’re going to want to feed it.

But the good news is that the solution is easy: we just have to stop feeding that fear. And we have to feed our faith instead.

So the next time we want to soak up what the headlines and maps have to say, we need to say no and take in what God’s word has to say instead.

Let’s feed our faith today, not our fear. Let’s let fear go hungry.

Psalms 34:4 “I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
