Molly’s Minute: Faith Or Control?

Have you ever done the blindfolded guide exercise before?
Basically, it’s a team building exercise where you put on a blindfold and let your partner—who is not wearing a blindfold—lead you through a course, just with their voice.
And it’s hard. Because you want to trust your partner. But you also kind of want to rip the blindfold off, see where you’re going, and walk on your own.
You want to have faith and you want to have control, but you can’t have both.
We experience that battle in our walks with God, too.
As He leads us through life, we can either choose to trust Him to take us in a good direction, or take the reins and try get there on our own.
But if we have to choose between having faith and having control, we should choose faith every time.
Because God is trustworthy, He keeps His promises, and He always works for the good of those who love Him.
So, as you’re choosing between faith and control today, I would encourage you to choose faith.
Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
