Molly’s Minute: Brokenness Isn’t The End
It’s a running joke in our house that if there is the slightest problem with anything, I will want to throw it away.
If a screw in one of our pans is a little loose, if my phone battery starts to die too quickly, if one of our appliances starts acting wonky, well then to me, it’s time to be done with it and get a new one.
But my husband, Vaughn, sees things differently. To him, everything’s fixable.
Where I see only brokenness, Vaughn sees potential. And if something has a problem, he doesn’t immediately discard it. He does everything he can to make it like new again.
And praise God that His view of us is more like Vaughn’s than my own.
Psalm 138 says, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble… The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me…”
God continues to work toward fulfilling His purposes for our lives through everything. Nothing can stop Him. Not even our brokenness.
So, if you’ve been broken today, know that your brokenness is not the end. God hasn’t given up on you, He hasn’t tossed you to the side—even in your brokenness, He is still working on His purpose for you.
Psalm 138:7-8 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
