Molly’s Minute: Backwards Roller Coaster Ride
Have you ever been on a backwards roller coaster?
I have, once. And I will never ride one again. It was not a fun time.
Because, when the coaster is going backwards, you can’t see what twists, turns, and loops are up ahead. You’re always trying to figure out what’s next, but you can never be fully prepared for it. Because you just can’t predict it.
Sometimes life feels like that. It feels like a backwards roller coaster ride.
It feels like we’re hitting unexpected twist after unexpected turn. And we’re dealing with all these constant surprises. And we can never be fully ready for what’s next, because we can’t know what it will be.
But if our lives are backwards roller coasters, God’s the one who designed the tracks. And He’s our seatbelt, and the one controlling the ride, and the one in the seat next to us, holding our hand—He’s all over it.
So even though we can’t see where we’re going or what’s next, let’s hang on tight, enjoy the ride, and trust that God is with us and in control.
2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
