Molly’s Minute: Back To Where It Started

They say falling in love is easy, it’s staying in love that’s hard.
That’s why, when my husband Vaughn and I were preparing for marriage, our pastor told us to write down how we felt about each other. Right then and there, when we felt all lovey-dovey.
That way, on the hard days that were sure to come, we could read what we wrote. We could go back to where we started and feel those warm, fuzzy feelings for each other again.
Sometimes, that’s exactly what we need in our relationships with God, too.
Because falling in love is easy. At the beginning, as new Christians, we’re on fire for Him; constantly in the Word and seeking more of Him.
But staying in love is hard. And over time, our fire for Him can fade.
So, if your fire’s gone out a bit today and you’re wanting to re-light it, I’d encourage you to go back to where it all started. Think back to how you felt when you fell in love with Him, and feel that fire growing stronger again.
Mark 12:30 “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
