This weekend, Kanye West landed in Houston for a visit to Lakewood Church, but he arrived early to make time for a quick stop by Harris County Jail.

Kanye brought with him a full choir to perform Gospel songs off of his new album Jesus Is King, which was released October 25th.

The video shows a touching scene of inmates singing and praising along to songs like “Follow God” from the album. Some inmates are even shown reciting the Salvation Prayer.

In the past few months, Kanye West has become a popular topic of discussion after he announced that he will no longer be creating secular music, but will focus only on “Gospel music from here on out.” The news has made waves in secular and spiritual circles alike.

This worship gathering at Harris County Jail is not the first of its kind – since the beginning of the year, Kanye has been holding pop-up worship services that he calls ‘Sunday Service,’ and has been sharing his testimony on major platforms like The Late Late Show With James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
