“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” – Matthew 6:26

This verse clearly communicates how much God loves His people, but how does God tangibly show this love and provision for us?

Many times it’s through other people, through the community He has placed around us.

Do you remember a time when individuals rallied around you during a difficult season? Maybe it came in the form of a kind note, a hot meal, a phone call, a “thinking of you” text message, or a heartfelt prayer.

Without realizing it, when we receive or give acts like these, we get a glimpse of Heaven because God has made us for community.

As Christians, we are blessed to receive this gift of community and all the benefits that come with it. However, we are also called to be that community for other people.

So how can we do this? Where can we serve?

If you’re asking these questions, we want to connect you with an opportunity that might be perfect for you: The Pantry Project.

There are people across our state right now who are struggling to fulfill something no one should ever go without: food. The Pantry Project’s goal is to help fulfill this need by collecting donations for pantries throughout our state, and we need your help to get the job done.

If you are able to donate, would you consider gathering some items and coming out to the last Pantry Project of this month? The BRIGHT-FM team will be at Open Doors Food Pantry this Thursday, June 23rd from 4 pm – 6 pm.

1 Peter 4:10 tells us that we are to use what God has given us “to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” and this could be the perfect way to start. Whether it be through a donation to this Thursday’s Pantry Project, or by praying for our event if you’re unable to give, God can use any act of service to build His Kingdom and provide for His beloved people.

Below is more information on this week’s event if you’d like to attend. We hope to see you there and chat with you at the BRIGHT-FM table!
