How To Stop The Loneliness…

Loneliness has a significant effect on our health. It can lead to diabetes, anxiety, depression, addictions, suicide, the list goes on… It also seems like loneliness is the perfect soil for sin to flourish in.
If I were Satan, that would certainly be my goal – to get people lonely and isolated.
Naturally, our hearts are prone to wander, to harden, and to sin. The allurements of the world never stop lying to us and calling us away from the living God. Our sinful nature wants cheap substitutes for the real rest God offers in Christ, and the world is eager to offer them to us.
The truth is, we really aren’t as self-reliant as we like to portray. We are constantly looking at those around us to get our cues. That inter-dependence is nothing new. God, after all, created us for community: “It is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). It was the only time God declared something in His creation as “not good” before sin entered the world.
In today’s verses, Hebrews 3:12-19, we look at how we can find the true rest and peace we crave, and how we can help others find it as well.
