God’s Grace Is Waiting For You. Will You Take It?

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!”– Isaiah 30:18
Do you ever rehearse speeches in your head that you’d one day love to make to someone who’s hurt or disappointed you?
Do you ever say… “One of these days I’m going to really let them have it…and tell them off.”
Or how about this one… “I can’t wait till they get what they deserve.”
Did you know that the Lord rehearses things He’d like to say to us too? However, they aren’t speeches to tell us off. They’re actually the opposite; they are words of kindness and love. Why? Because He longs to be gracious to us (Isaiah 30:18).
With all of the sinful things that I’ve done, shouldn’t He be rehearsing and longing to tell me off? That’s not how He works.
He longs to be gracious, and longs to show you and me compassion! He is literally waiting to pour out the full extent of His love. All we need to do is turn in His direction, ask for His forgiveness, and receive the deep longing of His heart…
All that Grace is just waiting there for us. Let’s gratefully grab hold of it today.
Dear God,
Thank You for Your grace that is so available to us. Thank You that You long to show us kindness, despite how many times we slip up. I want to take hold of Your grace and mercy today, but I need Your help. Make me aware of Your presence and of all the ways, big and small, that You’re showing me grace. Train my ears to hear Your voice and recognize Your truth. As I receive Your love, please give me opportunities and boldness to share it with others. I love You. In Christ’s Holy name, I pray.
Amen!
