We all have negative thoughts.

Sometimes we can catch these thoughts, but some sneak into our brains unnoticed. Before we know it, we are believing and accepting this negative way of thinking.

Maybe you hear little whispers in your mind tempting you to believe negative things about your worth, your body, or your purpose. The first step to rejecting these negative thoughts is to remember that they’re not from God.

In 1 Peter 5:7-9, God warns us that our “enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour,” and he often does this by planting insecurities and fears in our minds. However, God gives us a way out by instructing us to“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

Resisting negative thoughts is easier said than done, but God wants us to lean on our “family of believers” to help us fight this constant battle.

If you think you don’t have this type of community, think again. BRIGHT-FM and its listeners are a family of believers here to help and support one another as we take captive every thought. The more we fill our minds with truth from God’s word and encouragement from our fellow believers, the less likely we are to believe the lies of the enemy.
