Does God Change His Mind?

Recently, a friend messaged me with a question about the Bible. She sent me a text that said this,

 “Biblical question for you” 

 I said, “Go for it.” 

She asks, “In Exodus 32, God declares he is going to murder all the Israelites down the mountain that are worshipping idols. Moses then pleaded with him & reminded Him about His promises with Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Had God forgotten those promises? What made God change his mind?”

“Give me time to study it?” I replied.

“Absolutely.” She said, “Enjoy the challenge.” 

So, does God change His mind? Let’s dive in.
