3 Ways To Donate & Help The Community This Month

May 9, 2022
BRIGHT-FM

At some point in all of our lives’, we’re going to need a helping hand. That’s part of being a human. Sometimes we get knocked down and need a little extra love and care to get us back up. Fortunately, our Heavenly Father knows this and He made us for community so we can be there for one another and help each other in times of need.

Jesus was constantly offering a helping hand when He was here on earth. It was a mark of His ministry and He calls us to do the same during our time here as well.

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”Acts 20:35

This month, we have some opportunities for you to be that helping hand for people in our very own community who are walking through a hard time. Our Pantry Project is partnering with the Chesapeake Bank of Maryland and traveling throughout the state to collect much-needed items that will make sure Maryland food pantries are fully-stocked. These pantries can’t serve those in need without donations, so if you’re able, would you consider gathering a few items and giving them to our May Pantry Project?

Below is a list of the items most needed and the Pantry Projects happening this month that you can attend:

May 14th, 12pm – 2pm at Mountain Christian Church – Abingdon Campus

May 19th, 4pm – 6pm at Chesapeake Bank of Maryland

May 25th, 6pm – 8pm at Kent Island United Methodist Church

Here are the items most needed:

Pancake Mixes • Muffin Mixes • Pasta Sides • Peanut Butter • Potato Sides • Mashed Potatoes • Rice Sides • Cake Mixes • Brownie Mixes • Frosting • Peanut Butter • Canned Chicken Soup • Snacks (cookies, crackers) • Canned Meats (Spam, corned beef, ham, salmon) • Pancake Syrup • Granola Bars • Canned Fruit • Canned Corn • Canned Meals (Chef Boyardee, Stews, Chili) • Tomato Products (especially diced tomatoes, tomato paste) •Pet Supplies • Personal Bathroom Essentials • Crackers • Cookies • Laundry Detergent

We can’t wait to see you there! Stop by the BRIGHT-FM table to grab some free swag and chat with us after you drop off your donation. If you aren’t able to give, we would love if you prayed that God would be glorified through our efforts and provide exceedingly and abundantly for those in the community.
