Calling All Knitters: Knit for the Animals in Australia!

January 15, 2020

You’ve probably heard about the bushfires in Australia by now. These fires have affected nearly half a billion animals and wildlife, with millions of animals potentially dead.

When these things happen, we all want to know what we can to do help.

Well, if you’re a knitter, we have good news for you!

The Carolina Waterfowl Rescue in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking to donate hundreds of knitted nests to animals impacted by Australia’s bushfires. They’re also looking for items like animal sweaters, kangaroo pouches, and blankets.

And even if you can’t knit, there’s still something you can do! They also need folks to donate to sponsor postage for this project.

For more information, you can check out Carolina Waterfowl Rescue on Facebook, or send them an email at waterfowlrescue@aol.com.
