A Prayer: We Are Not Okay

“Jesus wept.”- John 11:35
This is another day I feel Him weeping, groaning, agonizing…with us and for us.
Lord…help. We are not ok.
We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you. Our hearts can’t hold this much grief. Pour out, Father, comfort for your children.
Come Holy Spirit and revive us.
Come in power, Lord, for we are in a war with evil.
Come in mercy, for we are full of sin.
Come into our hearts and fill us with Your love.
Come into our minds and replace every lie with Truth.
Help us not to be overcome with evil, but to overcome evil with Good. Do Your miracles, Lord. Draw every heart to You. Save those who are crushed in spirit. Forgive us for this violence we have nursed that is full grown now. Be our refuge and strength, our very present help in this time of trouble. All our hope is in You.
Amen.
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
